Dear runners,

On 17.11.2009 we had a wonderful "informal AJC meeting" at Het Rieten Dak at which we honoured and thanked Alain Lambert for being our Chairman for so many years.
Of course we reminisced our fantastic jogging events of the past years, in which Alain always took part and always played an important role.
To name a few: Relay to Munich (2x), Médoc (2x), Crête des Vosges, New York, Berlin, Athens, Rome, Marseille-Cassis, Nice-Monaco....

This made us also decide to do something together again: A (semi) Marathon trip somewhere abroad in Autumn 2010.
Ideas are welcome, and organisers as well!

However, to start up things and not wait too long, we decided to organise something in addition.
On Saturday 13 March we intend to take part in the "32 van Kampen"
There you can choose between 5 distances: 5, 10, 21, 32 (!), and 5x5 (relay), through the beautiful surroundings of Kampen.
We will stay in a hotel Saturday night (e.g. Hotel van Dijk), and of course have a meal together on Saturday evening (e.g. Da Enzo, or De Bottermarck)
Please, let me (Bert van Bommel) know asap whether you (and/or spouse) want to take part, then we can start organising in time.

Of course this trip is notwithstanding our yearly participation to the (1/2) marathon in Klazienaveen on 29 May 2010, which is a fixed booking in our calendars!

In order to prepare for this, we will start doing some trainings on Friday afternoons.
On Friday afternoon 4 December (alternatively 11 December) we will run from the office to my place in Naaldwijk.
This should be around 16 km, and less than 1h30' jogging.
There we can have a shower and a drink and a bite. We will also organise transport back to the offfice.
Because of the wintertime we will leave early (ca. 13:00) so that we arrive still at daylight.
Of course I should know well in advance whether you participate in this training.

Further on our training programme there will be trainings in Huizen and in/to Roelofarendsveen.

Kind regards,
Bert

After many years of active service Alain Lambert anounced in the last AGM of the Jogging Club to step back as president. In a special general assembly held 17.11.2009, he was thanked, and Wim van Klompenburg was elected new president. No replacement for the post of treasurer was elected at the moment. A candidate was found but needs some time to reflect.. So the present composition is:

President: Wim van Klompenburg
Secretary: Thomas Pieper
Treasurer ad interim: Wim van Klompenburg
