Some running events in NL: make your own selection
If you believe this does not concern you because you are not a competitive person, consider this. There is only a handful of race participants who are actually vying for trophies. The rest of the crowd is out there for all kind of reasons, many of which have little to do with seriously competing against others.
The most compelling reason to sign up for a race is the boost of motivation you'll receive the minute you pay your registration fee. Having the race date marked on your calendar will motivate you to run days when you may not otherwise get out of the door. And successfully training for a completing a race-regardless of your finishing time- provides an enormous sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
If none of the above reason entice you to sign up for a race, remember this: runners are up-beat, energetic people. You're bound to feel better after spending an hour with them at your local 10 K.
You might also be already looking for a challenge, an improvement of your PB, or just for an opportunity to share the pleasure of running with other runners.
The reason does not matter. Just pick up the one you're most likely to enjoy ^_^
and, of course, our favourite:
- dwars door drenthe : 14/10, Emmen, full marathon, also half marathon.
A few of us have already signed up for it. If you want some more information about this event, have a look at the AJC website .
Run 4 Fun: we'll be back
For all those who participated last spring and those who would have loved to, here is some piece of good news.
After the success of the Run 4 Fun trainings, we (Win, Jan and Cécile) thought we could not let you down, especially when the weather conditions start to play with your commitment -_^
So, there will be new Run 4 Fun sessions, both for men and women. We still do not know yet when we start (probably end of September) neither on which day of the week it will take place =_0. For the men, it is likely to stay Thursdays. For the women, the 2 group level sessions will be split on 2 different days.
That is all we can tell you for now, but we'll keep you informed as soon as things will be more precise.
