This is a special edition of the AJC newsletter to inform you about a workshop on orienteering run organized for you by Dirk Dobbelaere at the EPO.
It will take place Wednesday 29th of November , 13:00-14:00 in Shell 2.5
.
Orienteering workshop
Have you ever tried an orienteering run? A run through nature, finding your own track using just a map and compass?
You should, it is a completely different type of run, requiring more skills than just the running you need for your everyday road-run. And it is fun!
If you don't know what orienteering means; or if you like the idea but wouldn't know how to start at it; or if you have been orienteering a while ago but would like a refresher, then this short workshop is for you.
Wednesday 29th of November, 13:00-14:00 in Shell 2.5: overview of how to use your compass, what info to get from your charts, and how to get around your first orienteering run. Very practical, very hands-on, very condensed - the KISS principle.
Please contact Dirk Dobbelaere (tel 2019 - mailto: ddobbelaere@epo.org ) if you would like to attend, in order to prepare the necessary number of copies of charts and documentation.
If you have one, please bring your compass - and if you want to go out and buy one already: the simplest model will do.
Hope to see you in great numbers,
Dirk
As Dirk intends provide you with charts and documentation, please let him know if you want to participate so that he can prepare enough copies.
